Upper estimate price exceeded by 40 %.
The work Still life with Crabs by Liu Kang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 126,000.00 (€ 14,272.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Kang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Adjusting The Waistband in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Still life with Crabs von Liu Kang kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 126.000,00 (€ 14.272,13) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Kang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Adjusting The Waistband im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
