In January 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Boundless: Contemporary Art, which included the work Colour Ceramic Series - Play 1 by Liu Jianhua. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 162,500.00 (€ 15,503.70), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Jianhua have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Games (Polychrome Ceramic Series) in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 168,000.00 (€ 124,879.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Boundless: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Colour Ceramic Series - Play 1 von Liu Jianhua zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 15.503,70) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Jianhua auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Games (Polychrome Ceramic Series) im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 168.000,00 (€ 124.879,21).
