Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Seven-Character Couplet in Regular Script by Liu Chunlin was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 66,700.00 (€ 6,203.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Chunlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script, which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,925.90).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet in Regular Script von Liu Chunlin im April 2014 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 12.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 66.700,00 (€ 6.203,53) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Chunlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.925,90) versteigert wurde.
