It achieved a price of HKD 424,800.00 (€ 48,554.01), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lin Zexu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Regular Script, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 1,252,500.00 (€ 136,053.98).

Die Arbeit Couplet In Running Script von Lin Zexu wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 424.800,00 (€ 48.554,01) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Für andere Arbeiten von Lin Zexu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 1.252.500,00 (€ 136.053,98) versteigert wurde.
