Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy in Running Script by Lin Zexu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 201,600.00 (€ 23,327.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lin Zexu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Regular Script in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,252,500.00 (€ 136,053.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Lin Zexu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 201.600,00 (€ 23.327,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lin Zexu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.252.500,00 (€ 136.053,98).
