Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy In Running Script by Lin Zexu was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 202,500.00 (€ 21,996.75). Admittedly, works by Lin Zexu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Regular Script in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,252,500.00 (€ 136,053.98).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Lin Zexu im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 202.500,00 (€ 21.996,75) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lin Zexu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.252.500,00 (€ 136.053,98).
