Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lin Onus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Sidney in May last year. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work without title sold for AUD 34,440.00 (€ 32,093.93) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lin Onus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Breeark And Ngarak, which sold at auction in May 2007 for AUD 132,000.00 (€ 81,164.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lin Onus erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für AUD 34.440,00 (€ 32.093,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lin Onus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Breeark And Ngarak beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für AUD 132.000,00 (€ 81.164,35) versteigert wurde.
