Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work My Promise for your Happiness No. 6 by Lin Jingjing was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 90,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 44,001.27). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lin Jingjing; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot My Promise for Your Happiness No. 8 sold at auction in May 2015 with the realized price of USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,534.11).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit My Promise for your Happiness No. 6 von Lin Jingjing im Mai 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 90.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 375.000,00 (€ 44.001,27) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lin Jingjing; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit My Promise for Your Happiness No. 8 im Mai 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 62.534,11).
