In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included the work Harbour Scene by Lim Cheng Hoe. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,465.07), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lim Cheng Hoe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boats In The Singapore River, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 24,427.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Harbour Scene von Lim Cheng Hoe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.465,07) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lim Cheng Hoe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boats In The Singapore River beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 24.427,19) versteigert wurde.
