Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Harbor by Lim Cheng Hoe. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,041.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lim Cheng Hoe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boats In The Singapore River, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 24,427.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Harbor von Lim Cheng Hoe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.041,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lim Cheng Hoe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boats In The Singapore River beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 24.427,19) versteigert wurde.
