This artwork by Lillie May Nicholson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021. In the California Art auction, the work Oak Trees, Pacific Grove sold for USD 5,737.50 (€ 4,862.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lillie May Nicholson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monterey Bay from Under the Oak, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 20,312.50 (€ 17,213.98).

Für andere Arbeiten von Lillie May Nicholson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monterey Bay from Under the Oak beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 20.312,50 (€ 17.213,98) versteigert wurde.
