Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A hive of activity in Portsmouth harbour by Harold Wyllie was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,750.32). Other works by Harold Wyllie have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2006 by the work Panorama of Portsmouth Harbour With A Battleship Getting-Up Steam And Preparing To Leave The Quayside at GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,627.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A hive of activity in Portsmouth harbour von Harold Wyllie im November 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
