This work of art by Harold Wyllie could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work H.M.S. Liffey changed hands for GBP 152.75 (€ 256.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Wyllie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Panorama of Portsmouth Harbour With A Battleship Getting-Up Steam And Preparing To Leave The Quayside in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,627.41).
