Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Senza titolo by Li Yuan-Chia was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 25,200.00 (€ 2,854.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Yuan-Chia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work UNTITLED in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 78,503.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Senza titolo von Li Yuan-Chia im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 25.200,00 (€ 2.854,43) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Li Yuan-Chia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit UNTITLED im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 78.503,25).
