Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Album of Four Seasons by Li Xubai. It changed hands for a price of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,194.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Xubai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring After Snow in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,332.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Album of Four Seasons von Li Xubai zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.194,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Xubai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring After Snow im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.332,49).
