In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction The Origo Collection — Contemporary Ink Art, which included the work A Spring Mountain Dream Voyage by Li Xubai. The result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,166.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Xubai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring After Snow, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,332.49).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion The Origo Collection — Contemporary Ink Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Spring Mountain Dream Voyage von Li Xubai zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.166,24) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Xubai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring After Snow beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.332,49) versteigert wurde.
