Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work Images of Mutual Undoing and Unity - Confession by Li Qing. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 13,695.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Li Qing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Wax Works (There Are Six Differences In Two Paintings) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 590,000.00 (€ 54,873.83).
