In October 2014 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Riversid Bamboo by Li Qing. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 46,000.00 (€ 4,735.83), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Qing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four Wax Works (There Are Six Differences In Two Paintings) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 590,000.00 (€ 54,873.83).
