Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boy and Mushroom by Li Jikai was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. It changed hands for a price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,732.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Jikai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Growth Time, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 109,000.00 (€ 68,965.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boy and Mushroom von Li Jikai wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.732,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Jikai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Growth Time beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 109.000,00 (€ 68.965,52) versteigert wurde.
