Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Sadie Pfeifer, a Cotton Mill Spinner, Lancaster, South Carolina, 1908 by Lewis Wickes Hine. The price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,260.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lewis Wickes Hine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mechanic And Steam Pump, 1921 in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 228,595.18).

Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sadie Pfeifer, a Cotton Mill Spinner, Lancaster, South Carolina, 1908 von Lewis Wickes Hine zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 18.260,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lewis Wickes Hine erzielen.
