Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lewis Baltz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2019. In the Classic Photographs auction, the work Santa Cruz sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,631.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lewis Baltz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Candlestick Point sold at auction in April 2018 with the realized price of USD 118,750.00 (€ 98,351.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lewis Baltz erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Classic Photographs wurde die Arbeit Santa Cruz für USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.631,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lewis Baltz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Candlestick Point im April 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 98.351,83).
