In October 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Classic Photographs, which included the work Newport Beach by Lewis Baltz. The auction ended at the price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,411.47), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lewis Baltz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Candlestick Point in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 98,351.83).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Classic Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Newport Beach von Lewis Baltz zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.411,47) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lewis Baltz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Candlestick Point im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 98.351,83).
