Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Houston, Texas' by Lewis Baltz was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,981.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lewis Baltz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Candlestick Point in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 98,351.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Houston, Texas' von Lewis Baltz kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.981,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lewis Baltz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Candlestick Point im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 98.351,83).
