Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Levi Wells Prentice could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Melons, Peaches And Pineapple changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,804.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Levi Wells Prentice have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of Blue Mountain Lake in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,482.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Levi Wells Prentice konnte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Melons, Peaches And Pineapple für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.804,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Levi Wells Prentice auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View Of Blue Mountain Lake im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.482,38).
