Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Preparing for the recital by Leopold Schmutzler was sold in the Nineteenth Century European Art auction at Christies in London in November 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,113.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leopold Schmutzler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Nude on the Beach in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 50,385.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Preparing for the recital von Leopold Schmutzler wurde im November 2001 in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 4.113,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leopold Schmutzler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Nude on the Beach im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 50.385,93).
