This artwork by Leonid Pasternak achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Portrait of Tolstoy against a Stormy Sky sold for GBP 17,640.00 (€ 19,705.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonid Pasternak achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 608,316.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonid Pasternak erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Tolstoy against a Stormy Sky für GBP 17.640,00 (€ 19.705,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonid Pasternak erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 481.250,00 (€ 608.316,14).
