Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints, which included the work Spring is coming; and The garden covered in snow by Leonid Ignatevich Vaishlya. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 336.00 (€ 494.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonid Ignatevich Vaishlya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Corn blowing in the wind; Farm workers, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,317.72).
