A top price for Leonard Russell Squirrell - as previously expected
In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Venice from the Lido by Leonard Russell Squirrell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,352.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Venice from the Lido is the most expensive artwork by Leonard Russell Squirrell that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venice from the Lido von Leonard Russell Squirrell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.352,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Venice from the Lido das teuerste Kunstwerk von Leonard Russell Squirrell, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
