Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leonard Ochtman could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work In the Mountains changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,882.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonard Ochtman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter Tones in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 21,150.00 (€ 22,673.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonard Ochtman konnte im September 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit In the Mountains für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.882,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonard Ochtman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter Tones im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.150,00 (€ 22.673,67).
