Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 387,500.00 (€ 459,082.84). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leon Kossoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Railway Bridge, Mornington Crescent von Leon Kossoff kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 387.500,00 (€ 459.082,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Leon Kossoff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 1.388.750,00 (€ 1.566.467,81) versteigert wurde.
