Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leon Kelly could be acquired at Christies in New York in August 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Plantes of the Moon; and a companion drawing changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 993.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Messenger (Man With Kites) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,376.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leon Kelly konnte im August 2012 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Plantes of the Moon; and a companion drawing für USD 1.250,00 (€ 993,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Messenger (Man With Kites) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 45.376,17).
