In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale, which included the work French The Artist'S Palette by Léon Bonnat. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,423.43) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Bonnat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Samson's Youth in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 408,000.00 (€ 319,423.78).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit French The Artist'S Palette von Léon Bonnat zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.423,43) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Léon Bonnat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Samson's Youth im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 408.000,00 (€ 319.423,78).
