Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Les premières feuilles by Léon Germain Pelouse was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,146.37). Other works by Léon Germain Pelouse have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2012 by the work French foret De Fontainebleau at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,558.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Les premières feuilles von Léon Germain Pelouse im April 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.146,37) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Léon Germain Pelouse wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2012 die Arbeit French foret De Fontainebleau mit GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.558,22).
