This artwork by Léon Bonnat achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2008. In the European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting auction, the work French Chemin En Foret De Fontainebleau sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,068.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Bonnat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Samson's Youth in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 408,000.00 (€ 319,423.78).

In der Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting wurde die Arbeit French Chemin En Foret De Fontainebleau für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.068,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00.
