The work The Letter by Leo Whelan was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,505.45), 19% above the upper estimate. With this result, The Letter is even the most expensive work of art by Leo Whelan that we have observed at auctions so far.
