It achieved a price of USD 373,000.00 (€ 251,330.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 24%. Admittedly, works by Lelio Orsi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Leda And The Swan in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 1,008,692.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Apollo Driving The Chariot Of The Sun von Lelio Orsi wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 373.000,00 (€ 251.330,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 24%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lelio Orsi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Leda And The Swan im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 1.008.692,14).
