This artwork by Lee Quiñones achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in October 2015. In the The Beautiful Winners auction, the work Racer X - 1991 sold for EUR 23,400.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lee Quiñones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dance Band, which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 75,600.00 (€ 65,443.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lee Quiñones erzielte im Oktober 2015 bei Artcurial einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Beautiful Winners wurde die Arbeit Racer X - 1991 für EUR 23.400,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lee Quiñones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Dance Band beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für USD 75.600,00 (€ 65.443,21) versteigert wurde.
