Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lee Man Fong could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Before Departure changed hands for HKD 1,400,000.00 (€ 173,728.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Man Fong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bali Life in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23).
