A top price for Lee Man Fong - as previously expected
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale, which included the work Bali Life by Lee Man Fong. The price achieved of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000,000.00 – 35,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Bali Life is the most expensive artwork by Lee Man Fong that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bali Life von Lee Man Fong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 33.720.000,00 (€ 3.471.572,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000.000,00 – 35.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Bali Life das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lee Man Fong, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
