Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Fields of Vision: The Private Collection of Artists Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason Live Sale, which included this untitled work by Lee Bontecou. Here, the upper estimate of USD 250,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 275,000.00 (€ 225,520.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Bontecou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May this year with an auction result of USD 8,690,000.00 (€ 8,156,560.92).
