Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Red) by Lea Nikel was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,494.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lea Nikel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in December 2014 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 46,483.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Red) von Lea Nikel kam im Dezember 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 15.494,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Lea Nikel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Dezember 2014 für USD 56.250,00 (€ 46.483,76) versteigert wurde.
