Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Cool Smoke by Laxman Pai was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,794.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laxman Pai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Houses), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cool Smoke von Laxman Pai kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.794,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Laxman Pai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Houses) beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.037,77) versteigert wurde.
