Auction result fails to reach estimate
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work “Shot to hell ..” by Lawrence Weiner for DKK 1,550.00 (€ 208.04). This price was achieved in the auction Modern art and design at Bruun Rasmussen and was even lower than the DKK 2,000.00 estimate set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Weiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit “Shot to hell ..” von Lawrence Weiner für DKK 1.550,00 (€ 208,04) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern art and design bei Bruun Rasmussen erzielt und lag noch unterhalb des vom Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreises von DKK 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Weiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit BALLS OF WOOD BALLS OF IRON im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
