Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Detour by Lawrence Carroll for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,936.28). This price was achieved in the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawrence Carroll - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 1969, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 48,113.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Detour von Lawrence Carroll für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.936,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Carroll mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 1969 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 48.113,80) versteigert wurde.
