Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Laura Owens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 315,000.00 (€ 349,780.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Laura Owens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,755,000.00 (€ 1,475,037.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Laura Owens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 315.000,00 (€ 349.780,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laura Owens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.755.000,00 (€ 1.475.037,82).
