Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lady with a Shawl by Laura Knight was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 320.00 (€ 302.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laura Knight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wind And Sun in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 914,850.00 (€ 1,038,080.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lady with a Shawl von Laura Knight kam im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 320,00 (€ 302,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laura Knight erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wind And Sun im Juli 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 914.850,00 (€ 1.038.080,52).
