Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tambour 148' by Latifa Echakhch was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 93,750.00. Other works by Latifa Echakhch have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2015 by the work Sitting on Haunches Behind the Bushes Until There is No Longer Any Noise and Breathing Slowly. Then Stand Up and Walk Away at GBP 134,500.00 (€ 182,644.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tambour 148' von Latifa Echakhch im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 93.750,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Latifa Echakhch wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2015 die Arbeit Sitting on Haunches Behind the Bushes Until There is No Longer Any Noise and Breathing Slowly. Then Stand Up and Walk Away mit GBP 134.500,00 (€ 182.644,53).
