In September last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California, which included the work View of the Santa Monica Pier, 2014 by Larry Cohen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,167.50 (€ 2,215.58), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Larry Cohen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View From The California Incline, 2006, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 6,950.00 (€ 6,233.74).
