Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Larry Cohen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April 2021. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work The View from the Top of Westridge Road, 1978 sold for USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,649.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Larry Cohen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View From The California Incline, 2006, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 6,950.00 (€ 6,233.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Larry Cohen erzielte im April 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art wurde die Arbeit The View from the Top of Westridge Road, 1978 für USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.649,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Larry Cohen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View From The California Incline, 2006 beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 6.950,00 (€ 6.233,74) versteigert wurde.
