Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a Mandarin, seated small half length, his fur-lined outer coat with embroidered rank badge (Mandarin Duck) by Lam Qua was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,944.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Admittedly, works by Lam Qua have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The verandah of Nathaniel Kinsman's residence at Macao, looking across the Praya Grande; and Nathaniel Kinsman's residence at Macao, seen from the Praya Grande in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 73,072.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a Mandarin, seated small half length, his fur-lined outer coat with embroidered rank badge (Mandarin Duck) von Lam Qua kam im November 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.944,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lam Qua auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The verandah of Nathaniel Kinsman's residence at Macao, looking across the Praya Grande; and Nathaniel Kinsman's residence at Macao, seen from the Praya Grande im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 73.072,64).
